Thank you for your support in 2009. Your commitment through time and resources has helped provide a safety net to many children in Brunswick County. You are responsible for over 2,700 children and parents receiving services at two Family Resource Centers through agency partnerships. Your support enabled after school programs to operate at eleven elementary and middle schools serving over 600 children. Sixteen high school students received $1,000 college scholarships, and 116 first-time juvenile offenders are back on the right track through Teen and Peer Court Programs.
As volunteers, sponsors, parents, and educators, you are as much a part of CIS as the employees who administer the programs and the families who receive the services. Your generosity of spirit enables us to provide the services Brunswick County needs to keep kids in school and prepare them for better lives.
At CIS, we believe that dropout prevention is everyone’s concern. Every child needs and deserves a healthy start and a healthy future, a safe place to learn and grow, a one-on-one relationship with a caring adult, a chance to give back to peers and the community, along with a marketable skill to use upon graduation.
Join us in 2010 as we work to bring community resources to the schools where they can be distributed to provide the greatest benefit. With over 600 community partners and over 40,000 volunteer hours in Brunswick County, CIS reaches children and families who may otherwise fall through the cracks. Together, we make a difference.
Thank you for being part of the CIS family.
Warm regards,
Cynthia K. Tart, Executive Director
