Message from Randy Thompson, Chair CIS Board of Directors
As chair of Communities In Schools (CIS) Board of Directors, I want to congratulate all of our community partners for the role they have embraced in making CIS of Brunswick County the success it is today. The measurable impact of CIS programs have improved the lives of children and made our community a better place to live, grow and learn. Our continued success is dependant upon the many partners that have given so much to ensure a child's life is touched through CIS. Many thanks to our Brunswick County Educators, church groups, businesses, civic groups, individual volunteers, local governments and elected officials along with countless local, state, and federal partners. Through the involvement of so many, we are truly a community based organization working to benefit all children of Brunswick County.
I am ecstatic to serve as the chair of an organization comprised of countless numbers of dedicated and committed people. I would like to extend an offer to each of you to get involved in one or more of the CIS programs and experience what it means to make a difference in the life of a child. If you choose to volunteer, you may decide to tutor for a struggling student who has difficulty with a particular subject or serve as a class proctor for end of grade testing. Your expertise may be in policy making or fundraising events, which may lead to you being asked to serve on one or more of our committees. There are countless ways for you to participate in a collaborate effort which benefits our children.
Join with us as we celebrate a decade of service and commitment to children. We look for greater accomplishments in the future as more and more partnerships are established to carry out our mission.
