Over 600 friends and supporters attended the sold-out 10th Annual Benefit Gala for Children held Thursday, October 28, at Sea Trail Golf Resort and Convention Center to raise vital funding to support the programs and services of Communities In Schools of Brunswick County, Inc. (CIS). Joining forces as the event’s co-presenting sponsors were Dinah and Ed Gore and Carolyn Felton and Peter Laboy, Financial Advisors, Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC.
“Supporting CIS is an investment in our community and makes our whole economic system better,” says Ms. Felton. “With so many needs and so little to work with, it is an honor to be able to contribute to the welfare of our community.”
The traditional highlight of the evening is A Taste of Brunswick County. Seven time participants Terry and Andrew Bland of ART Catering & The Purple Onion Café stated, “We are always happy to volunteer our time and resources to the CIS Gala for Children. It is a true honor to help create an event of this caliber in our area.” An array of fabulous food was displayed and served by local chefs from Angelo’s Pizza & Bistro, Baked With Love, Cinelli’s Italian Restaurant, Coastal Catering & Events, Jumpin Java, Middle of the Island Catering, Salt Aire Bakery, Sunset Slush Italian Ice, SweeDeePie Cheesecakes, Taylor Cuisine Café & Catering, and Twin Lakes Seafood Restaurant. The Boundary House not only provided delicious food, they wowed the attendees and took the award for the best table decorations with their “yellow brick road” interpretation of the evening’s theme: Once Upon A Time!
Thanks to all who help Communities In Schools of Brunswick County continue to make a difference in the life of a child!
