The "Power of One" award sponsored by Progress Energy is presented to a business, community of faith, agency, organization or individual who has displayed dedication and commitment to the children and families of Brunswick County through Communities In Schools program. Progress Energy presented the award at the Brunswick County Education Luncheon.

Criteria
Nominee must have at least one year involvement as a partner with Communities In Schools.
Nominee has made a significant contribution to the welfare of others.
Nominee works effectively as a team with Communities in Schools and other partners.
Nominee inspires and motivates others through spirit and dedication.
Who is Eligible?
Any business, community of faith, agency, organization or individual who benefits
Communities in Schools program in substantial, important, or unique way. A
husband/wife, family, or team who contribute as a unit may be considered as one
nominee. Previous winners from within the past 5 years are not eligible.
Additional Guidelines
The nomination information must be typewritten and completed in its entirety.
If the nominee is a business, community of faith, agency, or organization, the name of one contact person must be provided.
Each CIS program may only submit one nomination to the Progress Energy Award
Committee for evaluation and award selection.
Nominees are selected based on merit without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin, or physical/mental disability.
